Groups and Collections

Groups vs Collections:

The Collection feature is designed to let you select and/or 'Groups and Rendernodes' where the Groups you can only select 'rendernodes'

You can select the Collection for a scene to use by: In the Scene properties under the 'Groups' tab - you will find that you can select 'Groups1-12' then Collections

Think of it like this:
Group1 = node1,node2,node3 (these rendernode will have Group1 in the Properties Tab)
Group2 = node4,node5 (these rendernode will have Group2 in the Properties Tab)
Group3 = node6
Collection A = Group1, Group2, Group3 (You create a 'Collection A' and add Group1 and Group2 - Options->Configure Groups)


So if you want to render with node1, node2 and node3 - you will assign the scene to Group1 (Scene Properties - Group)
If you can to render with node4 and node5 then assign scene to Group2
If you want to render with node6 only - then assign scene to Group3

Now if you to use all rendernodes (1-6) then you simply assign the scene to 'Collection A' which has all 3 groups
